Nighthawkers are doing damage to the reputation of this hobby. Its illegal and we are all getting tarred with the same brush. If we as a forum push for stiffer penalties then we are sending out a big message to those that would have the hobby banned, that only a very small minority of detectorists are nighthawkers, and we are happy for those that break the rules to get punished.
