Title: Re: Field Walking Finds Post by: waltonbasinman on July 24, 2009, 07:01:03 PM SILLY QUESTION BUT HOW CAN YOU TELL THE DIFFEREMCE BETWEEN mesolithic, neolithic FLINTS ??? ??? ??? ??? IS IT TO DO WITH HOW THEY HAVE BEEN ??? ??? KNAPPED Mesolithic flints are smaller better quality better worked. They usually conform to a size of about 3 or 4 centimetre size. Neolithic flints are rougher vary more in size and shape. Will post a picture up for you Digga to explain.
