Hi Tom and welcome to Detecting Wales. A great group of detectorists on here, with plenty of advice and support for any new starters.

Sorry I had to let you down for tomorrow Tom but I would have hated to have got down there and had to retreat. That is if I even managed to get there. The beach car-park should be open by 0800 hrs tomorrow; not a very high tide. Talacre can be kind to the detectorist and then again it can be a bitch. I have no knowledge of the Racer but believe it's ok on both dry and wet sand.

Upon entering the beach from the car-park, I normally turn left, stick close to the dunes, and detect westwards. The further west one detects, the higher the concentration WWII scrap. Millions of .303, .30, and 50cal projectiles hiding in the sands there. I have had silver and gold from that area but the ratio of projectiles to goodies is very high.

Here are a few bits and pieces from that area.........................

Oh, and I forgot to mention to Tom that there are millions of copper shrapnel fragments pretending to be coins at Talacre.
