Found on Saturday its silver with hallmark of Lion Anchor and letter b date would be 1901 me thinks Wink also above it got the letter g and r Wink
its all wood underneath and even the thread .

Interesting one Kev, well found. I think though that the letters are G W S and not G R . And see if there is a hole through the centre as I think it's part of a tobacco pipe,  GWS made mounts for pipes Wink

Interesting piece of Brumigian Silver 1901-2 the last year of Queen Victoria`s reign,

1902 the year of my mothers birth subsequently named Victoria.

That gives my age away.LOL Smiley  Jerry.

PS could it be Silversmith, George Alfred Retchford 1900-1922 St Ancocks Street Birmingham?.
