« on: June 17, 2016, 05:03:39 PM »

Hi to all,can any of you "well informed"guys and guyesse's possibility tell me what this little Roman coin is...PLEASE !! This now the second visit on this permission with first visit producing a beauty of a broach and a denarius.
This little beauty decided to show itself on yesterday's trip, along with a few other little treats, which I will post on the Detecting Wales forum in the next few days days.
Thanks in advance and thanks for looking.
Detector used : MACRO RACER + MARS TIGER 13" coil

Yes it is a nice buckle Chris. As far as I can see no. 48 on C J's metal detecting in the 13th to 15th cent section. Text says generally thought to date between 1450 - 1500.

Coin is a radiate and that's all I know. Hope som one else can help with who.
 Another good day, great finds.

Hi VAL,many thanks regarding your comments on PEAT.
I will certainly bear this in mind if ever I decide to be brave and detect on it!!
Mind you,the landowner allows his beasts to roam about quite freely !!
And again,if it can preserve bodies etc it must be able to protect artifacts Huh
Also many thanks ref the I'd on the coin and buckle.
I don't think I will be in that field for a while, the grass is growing well which means that the beasts will be on it!!....cus if their on!!.... I'M OFF..! LOL🐂👍

As Val has said it is a radiate - as often, a barbarous radiate (home made Smiley ) - so probably gallic empire - probably Tetricus II, but I can't make anything out on the reverse from your picture, sorry.
