                      Although I knew that the BBC weather man had predicted rain for Wednesday, I decided to put in as many hours as I could on my temporary building site project.  Arriving early, I commenced to work through the morning as the rain grew heavier hour by hour and by 11:00 hrs I finally decided to pack it in and retreat home for a well earned drink and a hot shower.

                      There is still plenty of lead, brass, and copper to be found but only a dozen decimals turned up on Wednesday. While sorting out the worthless scrap from the stuff to put at one side for weigh in next year I noticed what I had thought was just a sliver of tin can, or perhaps a section of a cut coin. Once the item was cleaned and viewed under a glass, I could see that it depicted a double profile of George VI and His wife Elizabeth the to-be Queen-mother?  :-\

                      Not a very exciting or productive day but I learned that I desperately need to review and improve my wet weather gear!  ::)

Well rescued, I wonder what it was part of?

                      Not sure Doug, but I almost binned it! It was only that I have rescued other items from being scrapped that I took the trouble to clean it and have a closer look.

              that is the second one I have found this year. The first one came off one of my farm permissions and is a little more ornate around the edges. I am wondering if they are some sort of harness decoration for working horses; along with horse brasses?  :-\
