Picked this up from Roman occupation site, its pottery and looks like it has been in a fire ? Possible spindle type whorl. :-\

Got it now....It's a scarce early Bronze Age baked clay spindle whorl, ( for spinning yarn)
c1800-1500 BC.....well pleased it had survived out of an archeological context, and not smashed up... ;)

Blimey Paul what a lovely little thing, imagine all the times its been rolled around on the field, weathered and knocked about.
