Post by: celticspikey on February 25, 2015, 08:05:36 PM
Well after the park finds, I needed to try and find some thing older so a few hours was spent on my roman field today no coins but these two pieces popped up, one looks like a handle of sorts the other I'm not sure some form of fitting maybe ??? sure there both roman though.

I know what they are.  1 - top of a toffee hammer  &  2 - a lever   ;D ::)

Would be nice to know what they really are but nice just guessing.

Well you're still finding stuff :)

I sometimes do a bit of park detecting just so I can say I've found something in a month.

There's a field near me that was used as a football pitch. A local Farmer told me about it after I spotted a crop mark in it.
He said his Dad used to tell him stories about the games they had there. Trouble is, he didn't know who owned it because, he said it had been sold a couple of times and he didn't know who the current owner is.
Now I don't often admit to not knowing something  ::)  but how can I find out who owns it now.

As far as Parks are concerned, well, we just aint got any round here. I want one, it's not fair.  :'(

p.s.   I s'pose the Park finds make up for Tenby  ;D

Val you should be able to find all land owners on the Land Registry website. OK it will cost you £3 for the owners details or £6 with a map but pretty cheap really and can save a lot of head scratching ;)

Geoff, thanks for the link.  Guess what,   I knew that  ::)   I've even used it to help out my eldest when he had a dispute on his house.   I didn't know you could locate field owners though.
