Glad you sorted it out. Talking of Mesolithic I thought you'd like to see the Flints and Crystals I picked up in the little plough field. (To be reported next week)  Thats 2 sites I've found hem and neither is recorded.

Yes, thats what I thought Mike. It's all in one small area, looks like it's been spread by the plough and isn't common round here. Wondered if it was a collection, picked up by a little Mesolithic Girl. It was in the same area as the Flints.

One site already confirmed (by eye) by National Grid Archi. as poss. Bronze age. Thats not where I found the Flints though. So thats at least 3 sites of interest for the records.

Nice going you lot, any finds at the moment are a bonus.
Val I shall enlighten you (and Alan) when they fit a machine gun into an aeroplane it becomes a cannon. Alan if that was 50mm you would need 2 hands to pick it up Wink It's a .50 calibre (or maybe even a 13.2 mm German) and was probably an anti-aircraft round rather than a cannon. Here endeth the lesson.

Val it is dangerous Grin They still use that size bullet as a sniper round, "very nasty" 2 years ago a British sniper shot a Taliban combatant at a range of just over a mile. Now hold on I'm ex army and that's just not cricket, you can't even see who's shooting at you Grin
And now for some even more horribleness, if you get hit at close range by one of these babies they will go straight threw, nice clean hole but the bad news is they are travelling so fast that even if you get hit in the leg, you will probably die of shock in about 10 days. On the other hand if you get hit at its bad boy range of 1000m it still goes right through you but unfortunately this time it takes half of "you" with it, the up side of this is that you don't have to wait 10 days. Sleep well Cheesy

Thanks for clarifying Geoff. Don't worry I not squeamish. Don't forget I used to be a Butcher.  Grin
Anyway whats cricket got to do with it.? say no more. Roll Eyes
