Title: Nice Ring For ID 4th Dec
Post by: The Ferret on December 04, 2011, 04:32:05 PM
Hi guys Managed to get about 4 hours on the beach before the tide this morning and found about £3.60 in coins and this nice ring.. BTW had any one noticed that some 2ps come up as iron :-/  :-/  even Sandman noticed this on his E-trac :-O..

The ring has a nice blue colourd stone, made of brass/copper but looks like it was guiled.
Cheers
TF

Nice going Ferret, your doing well down there and there's me been making excuses for the last few years why I haven't bothered. I think I better come up and have a go, well if you don't mind that is.
yes I'm afraid all 2p and 1p pieces struck after 1992 have a steel core and so are disc'd out.
Not sure on the ring as it has the shape of a stirrup ring (Medieval) but the setting of the stone with clips is more modern.
Keep going the gold ones must be there somewhere. Just out of interest is this all coming from the same area i.e. where I had the Hammered off the beach?
