Hi all . Here is a good quick tip if you don't know it already for protecting your detectors stem from scratches and mud etc and all it will cost you is your time . Go to any cycle shop and ask them if they will let you have some old used inner tubes select the size suitable to slide over your stem then cut this to size . I have found talcum powder the best thing to use for easing the tubing over the stem and would not recommend using washing up liquid or similar as this would remain wet under the tubing. I have covered many machines using this teqnique including the E.Trac Deus Sovereign etc.Give it a try yourself it works and will keep your stem in perfect condition handy when you come to sell the machine.

                                                         Regards to all Deus Dave

Good tip Dave.

I started using Vet wrap few years ago
its cost around £2.50 from pet shops and chemists
its non stinky so you wont send hours cleaning it off whet you want to reapply.
and it comes in loads of colours and patterns.
I seen a cracking one last week in the large pet supplies in Trefforrest....Pink with red love hearts  :-*lol
I would have bought it but i wouldnt want anyone talking about me  lol

I picked up that tip of some other site, recommended for those spongy hand grips that you can't clean. It works great but never thought about stem. Good idea.Shame I've got pink (for my horse of course)

Hi Val
You,ll know all about Vet Wrap then owning an horse.
I use it for everything now lol
I always take a large Welsh flag on Club events and its amazing what you can attach it to with Vet wrap !
Detectors with spoungy grips are a real pain, if you cover it in Vet Wrap its a simple matter of changing it now and again ;0)
