Peter may know more but you haven't been able to register for 2 years now, so what started as a server move and a "temporary" problem seems to have become permanent Undecided
In this day and age I'm afraid after 6 months all excuses run out of validity.

As part of the UKDFD team (although the technical side is nothing to do with me), I will add a response.

Rod Blunt issued this statement in May 2012:

Since our server was changed in mid January this year, it has not been possible for new recorders to register with the UKDFD, and only those who were registered prior to this date are currently able to upload records.

The reason for this is that a considerable amount of work is required to link the various elements of the site (forum, database, etc) and to implement the necessary security.

We are entirely dependent on voluntary effort to run the UKDFD recording scheme and due to the work commitments of those concerned it has not yet been possible to resolve this particular issue.

We aim to resolve the matter as soon as possible, but we are posting this notice for information, as we are receiving an increasing number of enquiries about the situation.

Everyone can, of course, view the database and make use of the reference material on the UKDFD website.

Now my understanding is that no-one envisaged how much work was required to rewrite all the forum software. As Rod said, all the UKDFD staff are volunteers and have full-time jobs and other demands upon their time.

The upgrades will be completed as soon as time allows and new registration will then be possible. The aim is for this to be ready by the end of 2013, but UKDFD is making no guarantees about this.
