also know how to record the location of your finds, particularly those over 300 yrs old. A good detectorist takes a gps 10 fig reading of the find spot and passes the find over to the local Finds Liaison Officer for official recording. recording our heritage is so important. if u need any more info, just ask -- but its best to join a club if u can.
