Hi All, I just thought I would post this up for any that may be interested.
Maplin have a sale (when don't they Grin) and one of the items is the same GPS Photo logger that I use. For anyone who can't warrant the £70+ that a standard GPS will cost you or for those who find it a pain typing in the name of way points when its wet and muddy, then this could be what you have been looking for.
The important point is you must carry a camera, as this is the method of tagging the way points. The time on the device and that of the camera are synchronised so when you take a photo of your find and press the button on the unit, they are when downloaded to the computer tagged onto Google earth. The battery is rechargeable and lasts longer than you have to worry about for a days detecting.
I wish they had been this cheap when I bought mine.

Got a Satmap many moons ago Geoff with all the best intentions to use it at every dig
and hopefully build up a pattern, but, apart from taking it out of the box have just never got around to actually using it in the field  Undecided

Am trying to source a suitable new belt and pouch system to try and get all the gear in one tidy bundle around my waist so maybe it'll be used one day....

LOL Tyna, I know what you mean "been there done that".
If your serious about a belt and pouch set up, have you looked at the Viper system? It's about the best around. It's so good someone nicked mine  Cry

Geoff - Yes I've looked at the Viper offerings but what I can't wrap my head around is what pouches to order!!

I need pouches to fit :-

Small digital camera
Satmap
Suitable pouch for finds
Suitable pouch for trash

Already have pouches for pin pointer and Minelab knife thingy

Or have you found a suitable belt system that offers the lot?Huh

Oh also on the wish list is a belt that is easily removed (not strong enough for the security ones). Been there - done that!!  A nice easy quick release pretty please  Undecided

We're not all ex bouncers  Grin
