Thanks Ray , theres no rush , as i won't be detecting in Cardiff , just stewarding and observing, just need one for Rooksbridge, might get one off Ebay if needs be.

i'm on call breakdown enginner this weekend , so i have to be able to hear my phone ringing , and i may need to leave in a rush., so no detecting for me.

Bought a Roughneck Ferreting Shovel off Amazon. Lifetime guarantee.They were £25 on ebay but just £11 here. I needed a strong shovel in the hard stony hills in North Wales and this one is awesome.

The best spades are the 100% stainless steel ones specifically designed for metal detecting

I bought one about 8 years ago when I popped into Leisure Promotions, Newbury.

I even lifted paving slabs with it and just can't break it.

I think it cost me £35 at the time but Im sure it'd be more now. You do get what you pay for.
