Bluetooth Headphones ???

I'm thinking of trying bluetooth headphones with my Garrett Ace 250 as I am sick of getting the headphone lead tangled 
 around my head and everything else.
     I'm just wondering if the frequency will interfere with the detector itself ?

Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

There is no frequency in the true sense of the word with Bluetooth so no need to worry there, however there is a time lag which means you could be past the target before the headphones give you a signal.
Many people have tried them but most give up in frustration in the end. Far better looking at something like a T-Bone transmitter and a pair of cordless headphones, as you only have 3 tones then that setup should be fine.

I never thought of that time lag. I will get onto google right away and check out the prices on the equipment you mentioned.

There's quite a few using TDK WR 700 cordless headphones with klear technology.

Tesco and others are selling them.

Appears no noticeable time lag. About £50 I believe.

Well spotted Bob, yes the TDK do work well with 1,2 or 3 tone machines but if you use multi tone especially Minelab In conduct sounds, these will not handle the low (good) tones.
Also remember that these are "on" rather than "over" ear headphones and so in wind (whistle) can be worse then using none at all.

You mean Minelab won't handle the TDK's !

None of the cordless systems can handle the slight variance in the bass tones on the Minelabs, if you use ferrous sounds then no problem as all the low tones would be ferrous anyway.

Well from what I have read they should work fine as you have a limited number of tones so as long as you can tell the difference between the high, medium and low then they should be OK.

I've read with GREAT interest this post on wireless headphones. Although I have some of Geoffs phones, which are excellent, they are 'on' ear and rub my right ear after a while even though I use a bungie to stop the detector droping too low. After 4 afternoons out last week I feel like I've got a cauliflower ear  
I've had a look at the TDK ' s on Amazon and noticed that Panasonic do a similar set up with 'over' ear phones. The one I was looking at is the RP-WF950EB-S.
Now I know nothing about these things but it sounds a brilliant idea   --- if it works. I have a Whites M6 which has either muti tone or 3 tone signals.
Would I be able to use these.??

Hi Val, what do you mean I went  didn't go anywhere lol. OK well the ones you mention would probably work well on paper as they are RF and not Bluetooth but unfortunately the transmitter is a table top based type and is too large to fit to a machine.

I have been using the TDK with the T-Bone for a while now with my Minelab and they are great, the only 'problem' is they use the batteries quite quickly so it is advisable to have a spare set with you. The sounds are very distinct between differing metals too. I use ferrous sound.
