Almost a year ago on April 1st I found a hoard of bronze age axe heads -
http://www.detectingwales.com/index.php?topic=14411.msg133852#msg133852
I have now at last been given a date in May for the Coroners inquest.
I have never been to one before and was wondering if this is a normal time to wait?
And also can anyone could tell me what to expect there?

Hi Landyman. A year is quite quick compared with some areas/counties. The inquests are often covered by reporters from local newspapers and they may ask to do a report. It is an opportunity to get some good publicity. With publicity there comes the chance of gaining land to search. It is worth being prepared and having an idea of what you would like quoted in a report. You can never be sure that they will report accurately. However, you can try and sway them. Tell them you are always looking for land to search and ask if they can request landowners to contact you if interested. Give them an e-mail address and phone number if you don't mind it printed. Good luck and enjoy the inquest.

I don't think you would be able to insure TT items as your not the owner and not in possession of the item to ensure it's safety.
They don't pay what they like it's just that they don't pay what we would like Grin

Many would disagree with the value but the TT have the final say on that. Angry
As for it being insured the ncmd are requesting the Flo and BM should have insurance for lost or damaged items in their possession. If so how can they arrange such if the finder can't  Huh
