A couple of really interesting finds there. The deer's head is lovely and looks really old.
I think I would have jumped out of my skin if I had seen that hand sticking out of the soil! Well done lads Smiley

Well I gotta tell ya that I'm struggling on the stags head Undecided There are no exact examples to draw from but given the "style" of the head with an extended snout, then it would point to it being more late Bronze Age-Early Iron Age. The Roman equivalents seem to be far more life like. A thorough search of that field and maybe the adjoining ones may produce other finds that could maybe point you in the right direction.
BUT one other possibility is.........................a relatively modern African bronze Huh

I'm definitely sitting on the fence with this one Grin

One of those finds would have made the day but two, wow, well done, lovely finds.

I've done a bit of browsing and like Geoff cannot find anything identical (or even close). I have learned the Stag was the symbol of several pre history Gods and was also the symbol of fertility  Shocked All pointers lead to the idea of it being very old.

Just in case,  don't keep it in the bedroom. Grin

Oh Dear. thats just what I said when I saw you'd cleaned it up.  It looked a lot more impressive before.

Now it looks like a walking stick handle. Cry

Never mind, one day, one day. Grin

Nice finds! I've not found  a parallel for the stag's head either.

If it is ancient, it's a shame you've wrecked it by cleaning.
