You've seen the light Mark, well done  Wink. It's not a one machine that does all,as you probably know ie, no good on wet sand for beach. Inland well that's another matter I've had mine for a year or so and I would never part with it, the factory modes or awesome and as you get use to it,it pays to tweak them a bit as I have with great effect. To some up it loves Hammered & Roman and you'll  be amazed at some of the tiny signals you pick up Shocked it's built well and oh yes it ain't half light  Wink Wink always good to go home at the end of a long search and not ache.

I had one of the first batch 5 years ago and never ever regretted buying it.

Even as a octogenarian, I still get excited at the thought of taking Monsieur Deus out for another walk. Wink  Jerry.

i am a cancerian and i love mine also ,i heard the problem with the 13" coil used to put the handle and stem out of balance ,but someone made a block  (cant think of the name of it) that re-centres the coil which makes it a lot easier , do i think the bigger coils are any better no i don't think so as my 11 incher don't find any more than nobby's little 9incher ,it just makes me walk round the field happy knowing mines bigger  Grin Grin
you wont regret buying it mark and the inbuilt progs are great and there are a few deeper programmes out there ,but get used to it first

The 9 and 11 inch coils are perfectly balanced, there are some people who say the 13 inch coil is unbalanced. There was a plastic block type thing you could buy to fit to the 13 inch coil to attach your stem 2 which brought the balance back.

No matter what the machine any larger/heavier coil will make it toe heavy even the Xterra's with their DD standard coils are unbalanced as they were designed for and with the lighter concentric.
