Just a little tip of mine. If your machine had foam handgrips, then i'm sure you know how horrible they get when your hands are muddy and how it is almost impossible to clean them. After a while, the build up of dried mud makes them go rock hard.

TIP - Wrap the grip in clingfilm before going out and they stay nice and soft and mud free Grin Grin

Just unwrap and replace the clingfilm when required.

Better than clingfilm is VET WRAP which you can get off e-bay.

It is used by vets for bandaging horses etc. It's self clinging. Got the idea off other detectorists.

I have my whole machine covered with it, from the handgrip, covering the stem and coil cable.

The idea behind this is that it stops movement of the cable or catching the cable on anything. Also, it keeps the machine looking like new.

When you want, just unwrap and put on new.

I suspect clingfilm will do the job but this stuff is fantastic.... Vet wrap comes in various colours but I'm quite happy with black!  Grin
