Found this a few days ago. It is a heavy item for its size, probably brass. It has a pattern of horizontal lines behind the 87. At left is has been broken off. Military ? Hope someone can give a possible i/d.

What size is it Win? First impression is a centre piece from a two piece buckle of the 87th Regiment of Foot (Royal Irish Fusiliers) Wink

Thanks Win and yes 99.9% sure its a centre buckle plate. This is one from the same era and it would have to pre date 1881 as in that year the regiment was amalgamated and changed it's name Wink
