Dig it all would be my advice Undecided Roman grots can and do come in as low as 9, so you can't really rely on the numbers along. Also if you get a faint minus signal, check it in prospect mode and if it's still faint....dig it.
Also try and run in two tone all metal.  Wink

Cheers welshbreed for info also thanks Geoff looked around and noticed alot of people including yourself use all metal setting . First time out  later with machine  so morning spent studying the manual Mark.

One other piece of advice is to keep the sensitivity as high as you can without it becoming noisy, I usually run mine at around 28 - 29. if you drop it below 25ish it starts losing depth pretty dramatically.
Take your time to get used to it and it will reward you, its a cracking machine.

i agree with chef on this one i was using the 30 and never really bothered digging 44 and was told it was iron but i dug it the one day after 2 years of use a very small hammie how many have i missed well ur guess is good as mine only number i wood leave is 4 and that's always foil

Don't dismiss the lower numbers ,a lot of the smaller hammered can be as low as -2 and into single figures with thin sectioned gold rings also turn up below 10 . As everyone has said , run in all metal in two tones , it resets faster in all metal than it does nulling out on a discriminated iron signal then resetting itself . Good luck.
