A week ago I found the resident 4 year old washing my SE in the shower after a few hours out, I'll be honest I nearly had a cry! After pulling everything apart and drying sadly the SE is no more, luckily those kind people at AA insurance are going to pay out! Woo....!

My mate wants me to get a F75 and in return he's offering a Golden Mask Pulse Induction as a swap...?

What do you guys think?

He wanted me to buy a F75 instead of replacing my SE and swap for the Gold Mask. I'm not so sure?!?

What? he want's you to buy him a new F75 and in return he will give you a Pi Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin
Uhum! No I don't think that would be a wise move. The Golden mask Pi is a specialised bit of kit and will with the right coil/frame go very deep, but it's not any good for general detecting.
But if you want to sell your duff SE drop me a line Wink

Oh it seem the little shi* is either trying to tuck me up or he can't use it. I shall on your advise tell him to insert it into his orifice!  Grin

It might be seen as going backwards but what's the F75 like Geoff - coins, silver, gold etc.., any idea's?

On silver and small fragments it's fantastic due to running at a high frequency, it is never going to be as deep as the SE for the same reason, that's just physics. It's not really a beach machine so don't even consider it if that's one area that you detect, but on freshly ploughed it is far more sensitive  than the Minelab. It has a faster recovery than the SE and of course is lighter.
The only time that you may wonder what you "might" be missing by not using the SE is on pasture. Wink

Ah, that doesn't sound too bad. Only really detect on waste ground, parks and castles so might not notice much difference..

If the insurers don't take the dead SE all of it or parts will be for sale  Smiley

Yeah I've asked them for a quote on a new control unit, insurers want quotes... lets hope its mega bucks and I get a new one or maybe I can 'help them out' with a cheaper F75..... might sway it  Grin

I think the last quote I got for a new complete control unit (3 circuit boards) was £465 so you should get the insurance OK as with fitting and postage it would be even more.

Really, why so? The more input I get the more informed choice I can make..

Do we have any F75 owners in here?

Thanks all
