Hello all
Decided today to try and get my head around my new machine the Deus. I have to take it back the things I have said about it. I really enjoyed using it today found lots of bits and pieces and only got caught out 3 times with Iron. So I am learning.
I went to a field that as been detected many times by three other detectorists that I know of over the years.
On previous visits hammered and other coinage have come up on this field. The field as been recently ploughed to which it is every year.
After about 30 minutes I found my first coin it was only a copper coin but a coin was a coin. This give me the heart to carry on I thought if 1 is missed theres more Here and I was right there were a further 91/4 coins in this field.
One being a hammered a Lizzy sixpence I think but not 100%. I thought I had my first ever cut quarter but not to be that needs ID too please.
Found 2 shilling one being George III 1819 and the other George V 1929.
17 Buttons to which one as a lion and crown on it
a small little star with stone in middle
A pin of some sort again for Id if possible
Well what can I say I really enjoyed and the Deus Is a brilliant machine on the Ploughed ground Loved It

Great finds. Hammered is possible a Mary groat, but needs larger pictures to be sure.

The pin-type thing is one of these:

The broken coin or token is foreign I believe, but I haven't found one to match.

Great haul Wayno, I can't help with the coin fragment other that its not what you'd normally call a cut-quarter. Glad to see you've mastered the new machine quickly  Wink
