We've said before that some finds are like buses. Well here's another. Snap Willowtree. Grin

Found mine this afternoon and have managed to I.D.The Hall Marks as Chester 1904. But I'm a bit confussed. The Makers mark is LL and the only one I can find is LEOPOLD Ltd. reg.1908 London and Paris.

Geoff, you're pretty good with these sort of things. What do you think.Huh?

Nice find Val. I wonder if the letter is a Q, which would make it 1916? And does the maker's mark start with an A, so possibly Adie and Lovekin Ltd? See here:

Well Al you're right about keeping me busy. Roll Eyes

Peter I'm throwing a fly into the ointment. It's not Chester. The Marks are, A Lion, 3 Little Castles and ?? Q or D.
It's likely there is something before the LL but what I'm not sure.

Looking again at the Assay Office site I can see it's more likely to be Newcastle but if it is I can't pin down a maker.

Thanks for looking for me. You said I'd need your expertise one day. Roll Eyes

I hope he didn't mean professionally Grin Shocked

Well I've had a look at as far as I can see your first id of it being Chester is the right one as Newcastle should have a leopards head to go with the three castles. I think Peter is on the ball as usual with the date letter being Q for 1916.

Hi Geoff. Thanks for your opinion. I'll settle for that. Grin
Not quite what I was looking for but nice all the same.Shame I haven't found the rest of it. It may not have been the same as Willow Trees' though. I seem to remember these were also made to pin bibs on.
Talking to the Farmer last week he was telling me that he's got a licence for infill or dumping of soil waste, something like that. He's filling in an old slurry tank and the infill is coming in from Cross Hands, Swansea  side of Carmarthen. Had an idea that something nice might have come with it. Roll Eyes (I found a pre. 1930 beer bottle complete)
Back again today, you never know. (I wish)
