Title: A tale of an Ango Saxon Annular Brooch.
Post by: dragonsbreath(Paul) on May 01, 2011, 08:20:42 AM
About 18 months ago in Darkest central England i was lucky enough to find
An Anglo Saxon Annular Brooch which was severely encrusted in a cement like concretation....Along with a number of other similar artifacts this was shown and declared to local F.L.O. was recorded but due to condition was disclaimed and given back to me.
I decided that as it was no good to me in that condition and i had nothing to lose in attempting to clean it using lemon juice and a toothpick. :o
So after a long and laborious 12 month period i have got about as far as i can go
and the picture below is the result.
With "some imagination" lol it apparently represents a Serpant swallowing its tail
a standard design...So at least now you can see what its meant to be.
Regards and H.H. to all PaulB.
