make sure absolutely sure its dry, maybe a squirt of wd and a wipe around with a cotton bud.
then recharge your battery it might just be shorted out and maybe ruined so you may need a new one.
have you got any mates who have explorer types?and try their battery.
i should imagine it auto switched off when the water got in so as long as you didnt power it up it may be ok.
where do you live?

Beachboy aka Viv knows someone who repairs Minelabs. I don't have the chaps business card to hand.

Drop Viv a PM for the details

Cheers

Unfortunately as you're aware saltwater kills (so does WD40) electronics, you could still have water in the bubble switches on the control panel which would take a lot longer than a night to dry off, if you have no joy after a few days drying then best to get in contact with Steve at MSR but be prepared for the worst.

Hi Falcon,

I got water in the control box of my Explorer the other week it took a full week to dry out,I knew when it had dried out fully by the screen,  every time I used a hair drier or put it by a radiator the screen would clear but when it cooled down the screen would mist up again but when it was completly dry the screen stayed clear when it cooled down.Hope is helps Wink

Think there is someone in both magazines that does it. Hopes this helps and your machine gets fixed.
