Eventually managed to get out on the beach for half a day but couldn't manage any major finds. I think the lifting lugs and the stainless steel table knife were leftovers from the TV film-set that was set up on the Talacre beach area last year.

2 X heavily galvanised lifting lugs
1 X stainless steel table knife
                    39 X .303 WWII brass cartridges
                      3 X .30   WWII brass cartridges
7 X bits of copper shrapnel
                      6 X copper maritime nails
                      1 X copper maritime rove
                      1 X small copper washer

and one 1962 Elizabeth II sixpence

Hi Chris
Were the finds with the new coil?
I went on Sunday  afternoon and the finds were few only finding two, two pence pieces and a half penny decimal. Also a fork and drawer handle.

Not a great deal lol   Smiley

Hi Richie,
all the brass cartridges were found using the small sniper coil, but the rest of the items were targeted using the standard DD coil. I intend running the new Nel Tornado coil over the same area when I next get the opportunity to get down to Talacre.

All the copper maritime bits and the sixpence came from one area that was about two meters square. I would have worked the area more extensively but I was quickly losing the light and it then started to rain. With the temperature down to about 2C and an easterly wind blowing the cold rain at an angle of about 45 degrees, I threw the towel in and gave up.

Initially, I had planned to put in a full day today but whilst having breakfast with the wife on Tuesday she reminded me that it was arranged for me to do a favour for our daughter and suggested that I run down to Talacre on Tuesday. I suppose half a day was better than none!Would have texted you but I assumed that you would be working.

Will you be hitting the sands this Sunday?

Good morning Richie,
It's highly unlikely that I will get to Talacre for Sunday; I don't think that I will even get the chance to visit my local permissions, Should the wife offer me the opportunity of a day's detecting, I will certainly make it to the beach and I will text you on Saturday evening. I haven't yet had a look at the weather, or the tides, for Sunday. If the offer of Llandudno is for detecting I would say go with the flow, you never know what you may find!

Stay safe and happy hunting  Smiley
