8.15 this morning saw me standing once again (Taff) in a Somerset field waiting for Tafflaff and this time accompanied by Pipster. After saying "good morning" to a few dog walkers I began to become aware of just how strange it must have looked, me actually parked in the field, wandering around "without" a dog, trying to look as if it was quite normal. After only about 20 mins the dodgy duo dully arrived.
So we were off for another boys own adventure on 8 pasture fields, Now we had been here before, at least Rob, Ray and I had and apart from Taff finding a late medi buckle...we found didly squat.....nothing...nada ...zilch. so this was a long shot for somewhere to go.
We skipped the first field as this had proven to have a big build up of top soil the last time out, but as soon as we were in to the next field it was on with the machines and BANG...I was in to my first signal, faint but good. at 10" I recovered a lovely what I took to be a medi French Jeton, now I'm leaning to it being 17-18th century.

Taff was next with a find. a nice little D buckle followed swiftly by an early plate buckle in beautiful condition.
Pipster then chipped in with the best dagger/sword chape I have ever seen, the patina on it made it look almost new, he now went just that bit  to far and found a stunning lead vessica seal. Hopefully he is trying to work out what it says right now.
I can't remember what order the rest came in only to say that I really upset Taff by finding yet another gold ring this time with "love cuty" written inside (18th century???) and what I hope is half a papal bulla.
ENJOY.

Maybe a bit like this one - is the plate folded and riveted in the same way? If not, please can you post front and back pics?

If you notice Peter all the finds are quite sizeable, the Hammerds are there, just a little too deep for their density to register.
This is the back of Taffs buckle.
