Well spotted Ade.........BUT....I'm afraid it's a cloud lol. If you look at the crop lines left by the tractor, these are shadows. Now your marks are even lightening these shadows which means they must be above ground, either cloud or smoke.
Sorry

Hi Ade

I find GoogleEarth much easier to look at than G.Maps. if you haven't got it try down loading it and then look again.

Thanks to a cancelled meeting I managed  to get out for a couple of hours onto a field next to the circular cropmarks. There was a lot of lead in the field, clear signs of habitation everywhere!
Anyway here's a pictures of this mornings finds, does anyone know what the lead thing is? It has a pattern at the fat end. Does the brass thing have a function? And finally the two ring pieces in the group photo, any ideas?
Oh I also found an 1788 Anglesey mines halfpenny druid token but it's condition was unworthy of a photo.
Thanks

Good first day Ade, shows promise. Is that a silver thimble i see there, it's very nice. The pattern on the brass thing looks like a wheat sheaf, short fixings so could be off leather praps. The ring thing, round on one end square on the other reminds me of a rail support, but I might be wrong (probably am) Undecided
Keep us informed on next visit. Good luck.

There you go, you see what interuptions do for you at my age. Cry I was going to do this on separate posts but what the heck.

Well done ROB and Ade it takes a while to get your eye in, so to speak. You'd be amazed what you can see when you get used to it. Don't get in too close, sit back and look at the whole pici, see the little differences in shade and take note of the elevaltion.

Finally got onto the field I previously called cropmark 1. The best find was the spoked spindle whorl (my second like this). The top left thingy is pewter. No idea what the small brass ring thing is. Any views?Huh
The stone thing looks interesting. Could it be an axe head or is it wishful thinking. Its got loads of of marks on it.

Interesting finds. The small round thing is a watch winder. The stone looks the right shape to be an axe, but will need to be seen by an expert.

Hi Rob

Nice finds. Check out www.trocadero.com/stores/TheAweidahGallery. Just enter Stone Axe in the search box at top and I think you'll see one just like yours.
It will need confirming but finger crossed it looks good. 6000 BC. WOW. Shocked

Yes Rob it is a Neolithic polished stone axe dating to about 3,500 BC making it 5,500 years old and looks very complete. It is not a Langdale type so could be locally made. Please, please, please record this with your local FLO as it is a cracking find. Well done sir.

The large broken bronze/brass ring is from the rein attachment for a horse bit. 19th to 20th Century. I found one also broken but with part of the snaffle bit still attached.

The big lead thing looks like a mold pattern for a handle of some sort.

The axe head looks like its made of limestone?
