I was detecting near an old oak tree had a signal and out popped this viccy shilli ng which fell out of a pendant
in super condition  Has anyone else had a find under a tree

always check around large trees bud,peeps used to have picknicks under them and a frolic in the grass.well i did anyway lol.
 i find loads of coins under large trees

the theory is the older the tree ,the more finds should be there.way way back some kids sheltering under a tree with a cheapie BFO found a hoard of gold sovs at not too much depth Roll Eyes

I had a good find in amongst a cluster of old trees in the corner of a field. Makes you wonder what went on there.

i was told that when there was a battle the soldiers would hide their posesions under nearbye trees .wether that is true or not i dont know.make sense i supose so the enemy doesnt get your cash if u fall Smiley

i found myself knocked out ynder a tree after a squirel ran down the back of my shirt when i was climbin the tree and freaked me out lol Shocked

One of those kids from way back was Jeremy De Montfalcon. He is still detecting today and pops up at rallies from time to time. He did a talk at our club sometime ago which included about his hoard.
