Theres an old adage  Smiley which goes it is,nt what you,ve got it,s how you use it  Grin this applies to search coils we,ve had a recent glut of them  with various claims made verging on the ridiculous   people have been complaining  about the preformance of sef coils the weight instability on certain  machines ect , fact is when the coil size reaches over ten inches it starts to lose sensitivity on the small stuff  granted a coil fifthteen by twelve will cover more ground it will also be more vunerable to ground effect  when people claim to find things on worked out it could Just be the extra ground coverage available  I wonder why the detector manufacturers don,nt produce such large coils Huh mole

You could well be right Mole, A well known and respected detectorist of many years experience has stated that he has never come across a 3rd party coil that would do a better job than the makers own coils.

that is a very good point you made there mole i think you are right about sensitivity and pinpoint is out of the window with a bigger coil i think you do benifit on deep grass with no iron but lose on infested sites its not just the sef its all big coils Huh
