I bought these two today at a local antique shop £6.00 for the two.

They both look the same  but any info on them would be much appreciated

Thanks

It's called 'Spot the Difference'  Grin   They're definitely not the same.  Needs some one else to I.D. them though. I've got no idea.  Nice buy for £6 I'd say, they're in good condition.

They are both examples of the Constantinople commemorative issue of 332-333 AD, from the Trier mint.

They've got slightly different mint signatures

the left has 'TR (dot) S' and the right has 'TRS (dot)'.

That makes them different varieties and so they will have a slightly different catalogue number - and one type will probably be incrementally rarer than the other one (although given that these are found in their hundreds / thousands, they're not rare Smiley ).

Thanks every one I would rather be pulling them out of the ground instead of buying them but just couldn't resist.
