Title: Beginners luck -- part 2.
Post by: handyman [Alan} on March 14, 2014, 08:51:01 PM
This time, one of the newest members of our club, aged 13 .... has had the most wonderful week imaginable.

Each day after school this week, he has dashed out to his local field and on Monday he managed his first ever hammy . .a lizzy penny.  This was followed by a 1563 lizzy sixpence on Tuesday ... and then tonight he posts this little devil, found today -- a groat ... a coin that is high on my wish list!!
So any help in the exact ID would be much appreciated.

[I have asked him for 6 numbers between 1 and 49 as well .... but so far they've failed to materialise!].

Thanks for helping our clubs youngest member out.

Cheers everyone

Hello.  This is Ben.  Thanks for all of your help with identifying my coin.  It is much appreciated.  It came up in a coin ball and at first I thought it was a bottle top.  Then I saw the crosses and I knew it was  something better.  I've had a great week.  I've been hoping for a hammered for a long time and now I have got three in one week.  Thank you.  Ben.

What was that you were saying about shades of green Cherry  ::)

Ben's done it again. Never heard of one of those, so definitely a first for me.  What detector are you using Ben ? Whatever it is you sure know how to make it sing the song. Well done again.

Fantastic finds - that groat is something all of us would be proud of finding - you must have a very interesting field / area there (which helps!).
