The National Heritage Memorial Fund announced today that it is to contribute £1,285,000 of the £3.3 million needed to prevent the hoard of 1,500 gold objects being broken up and sold privately. http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/article7073080.ece (http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/article7073080.ece) Title: Re: Staffordshire Hoard finder Terry Herbert in million pound payout Post by: waltonbasinman on March 23, 2010, 09:56:15 PM The treasure went in the ground as one and should be kept together, Well done the National Lottery.

a guy i talk to on the bus bought a compass detector in a boot sale not so long back for £5, the receipt in the box was for $625. it wasn't very old, but he couldn't get it to work properly, in the end he took of the fiber glass coil cover that looked rough, then all of a sudden it worked great, he found a great silver charm bracelet down the beach a couple of weeks ago with it, over 10" deep. he may come to one of our meetings soon he said, Alan |
