Title: Yesterdays Roman
Post by: celticspikey on January 06, 2015, 07:26:25 PM
Hi peeps, yesterday I decided to check on a roman field that I knew had been ploughed but was not sure it would be detectable  :-\, on arrival I could see it was not the best conditions to search :(. Had the field been dryer then I would have persevered but as you can see from the picture of my boots to say it was hard going would be an understatement and after an hour I had enough I was knackered, and tired of cleaning boots, but not before the little Roman pennanular brooch popped up (1st – 2nd) century :) The pottery is from the field as it is littered with it. From here I went to another field not far away and had the debased silver roman shown. ;)
