Title: Charles II Halfcrown. Post by: Greg on April 22, 2017, 05:16:12 PM Found last week on a farm field I have covered dozens of times, as has been said before, always worth another visit.
Think it's 1673 I can see 73 on left of crown. Would have been worth a bit in good condition, not that I would ever sell it, one of my better finds :) Title: Re: Charles II Halfcrown. Post by: Greg on April 24, 2017, 09:47:23 PM Bump

Lots of crud on the coin, soil is not very kind to coins in this field. I have been advised not to clean it up. I was not able to post it before, as there is a limit to photo resolution on this site, so had to use an app to reduce it. Title: Re: Charles II Halfcrown. I would try to gently give it the kiss of life. ;) happy Hunting, Jerry. Title: Re: Charles II Halfcrown. Post by: probono on April 28, 2017, 08:33:20 AM I'm sure that it could be improved from its current state - just depends on whether the horn silver on it has pitted the surface underneath or not. Thanks for sharing
