Title: Just bought this at a car boot sale . . .
Post by: Neil on August 01, 2010, 11:15:01 AM
Any ideas on this one Doc or anyone else - just bought it at Sully Car Boot sale off a stall that had quite a few Georgian coppers, buckles and general detector finds. Turned out the stall owners bought the lot as a job lot off some guy. This caught my eye and apparently the guy "dug it out of the mud around here" - make of that what you will.

Still sharp and I think has an age to it.

Any ideas?

Neil

P.S. They wanted the princely sum of £10 for it, but I haggled them down to £8 - thats the fun of boot sales - you never know what will turn up.

Yep North African, I think it's a variation of this type

Sorry to say it may not be possible to date it as you can still buy them new, as a souvenir in Morocco and Algeria.

That looks to be it Geoff - well found mate.

I think I will still show it to Mark {FLO} just on the off chance. Oh well at least it was only a few quid.

Thanks
Neil
