Welcome m8, Don't be a stranger.
Who knows, your next buy could be a detector for yourself so that you can spend more time with your son and learn together.

thats the idea ysbytymike!the plan is to get morg a detector then when i can afford it to get myself one.i've taken the advice on board and am edging towards the garrett 250 for him, but for some unknown reason i'm being drawn to the viking vk30 for myself.as i know absolutely nothing about detecting this is a mystery to me.my mate has a whites machine so i'm going to look at that as well.

Hi Foody & welcome aboard m8,  it can be confusing with all the makes & models of detectors. But if in doubt theres always someone on here will have some good advice, good luck and good hunting.  Wink

As a nine year old foody just check with organisers about insurance cover. Not all rally organisers have this cover, but look forward to seeing you out there.
