Interesting to see in the press article:

  "  ......has been doing metal detecting with his £500 detector for 30 years, and at his home he has drawers filled with Medieval rings, jewellery and brooches. ..."

I am surprised that he has been able to keep all those!  The local museum must be stuffed with jewels  :D
