Title: Modern counterfeiting of silver coins . . . Post by: Neil on March 12, 2012, 09:09:22 AM As many of us are collectors of coins you may find the following article a tad disturbing. Be warned there are plenty of these things for sale out there on internet auction sites. My biggest concern was noting the Vicky crown dies as I collect crowns.
Have a look at the attachment at the scale of coin counterfeiting of silver coins in China. http://coins.about.com/od/worldcoins/ig/Chinese-Counterfeiting-Ring/ (http://coins.about.com/od/worldcoins/ig/Chinese-Counterfeiting-Ring/) I spent a couple of weeks in China and Hong Kong a few years ago and you would literally see buckets of the fake "Morgan Dollars" in the market place on sale for pennies.
