hi guys and gels!

i recently purchased an elite it was second hand when seller bought it,
so don't no when it was last looked at just wouldn't mind it looked at for piece of mind not saying it does need anything but better to be safe than sorry!
i,m not sure if it is false signals or me imagining it,
i,ve just got it into my head that there is a problem so i wouldn't mind a little bit of closure

could any body tell me who would be the best to talk to or send it to please.

Jimi as your relatively new to the Elite I would try and get someone near you who has a few years experience look at it first if they also think it's not quite right then you can either send it back to Minelab in Ireland, MSR services in Essex or Joan Allen. The main reason for it falsing is having the sensitivity too high, I very rarely ran with it above 12 O'clock and after that the coil is the next culprit.

thank you geoff i,ve tryed the sensitivity down but i can only just about make out a hum which is what you want i suppose but i go to really trashy fields and its constantly nulling so its hard to get the sound and the (sens) right

but i will find some one close by who has had one and go from there thank you mate your a real help

Umm? nulling isn't falsing it's simply the Sov discriminating out the iron which you just have to live with on an iron contaminated site, going really slow will help as will making sure your disc is on minimum sensitivity on 1 or 2 O'clock and volume at 2 O'clock and obviously a small coil pays for itself in those conditions

i,ve just been informed by the net that power cables don't help either geoff and the field had quite a lot of them thank for the other tips geoff very much appreciate it.

try sens on auto until you get more into it.i've had mine for a year and its only now that i have started to love it,not that im an expert cos i aint but the elite really does the buisness on the gold rings,had one this afternoon
 when i first had mine i thought it was falsing all over the place but it was just picking up loads of deep targets.i get coins at 18 now that i have got to know it a bit
 stick with it ,try smaller coil inland on trashy fields like geoff said earlier
