hi all,  I remember reading advice on DW a while ago about how to get more depth from
a garret pinpointer. as I,ve just ordered one from Crawfords yesterday,and hopefully will
get it in time for Sunday.it was something about putting a coin on the probe. could some kind soul remind me of what to do. Ta Digger

look on youtube but yes turn on your machine use a silver coin and slowly move it down from the battery end to the tip and just as it starts to beep move it back a fraction and tape it down job done Smiley

I would recommend you do this also...  http://www.detectingwales.com/index.php?topic=18220.0   Ive had mine submerged in a washing bowl to clean it and its totally waterproof,  just make sure you shrink it on nice and tight especially both ends.

Hi, my arm cup broke I fixed it with glue and duct tape also.Can't justify paying 20 odd quid on a bit of pastic.
I've also modifid mine with a coat sleeve that I cut from a old quilted coat,I cut the sleeve just below the elbow
I then cut a slot for the arm cup screw to go through, I placed the arm cup inside the sleeve and the arm cup holds it in place
on the detecter. If you have problems with your arm and shoulder like I do it helps take some of the wieght of the detecter off your arm.
