I recently spent two mornings on the beach at Talacre and due to changing my search patterns, slowing down the Safari swing, and listening more closely to the tones I managed to winkle out a few coins from well worked areas of sand.

Having detected my second Victorian penny in five years, I got to wondering where have all the Victorian pennies gone?

I also managed an old buckle and am wondering if anyone can estimate it's age?

Well done Chris. Nice haul for a couple of mornings work. Low and slow was always the way to go with the Safari.
The buckle looks to be Georgian. Nice find for the beach.

Hi Val,
I was thinking possibly Georgian for the buckle. An other piece of buckle that I found the other year was also possibly Georgian as was a George III half penny that I found in the sands not too far away from the same area.

I'm going to give the Safari an outing on pasture this coming Thursday and see if I can transfer my luck to the green stuff. Just a pity that I haven't got any Roman to go at!  Roll Eyes
