On BBC News tonight.  The largest part of the Meteorite that hit Russia in Feb. has been recovered from a lake nearby.
It weights in the region of half a ton and is a  mtr and 1/2 long.  How much do you reckon that's worth. Makes your eyes water thinking about it. Shocked

Well - it's a 'known' and observed meteorite, so that will push its price up certainly. Beyond that it depends on its makep - the ones that are more like trifle (palemsite?) tend to go for more than just the rocky ones, although given that this one has a nice fusion crust will certainly help.

Small slices of meteorites go for £20-£100, so you can work it out from there I suppose Smiley

They only said it would be 'extremely valuable'.  Be much like a large diamond, I s'pose, worth more once it's cut up.
