Title: Few items from this evening
Post by: scara on August 19, 2016, 10:27:33 PM
Well once the rain had stopped this evening I decided to go out for a couple of hours. Went on to an available stubble field and struggled along as you do in stubble  :).
Found a number of buttons, bits of lead and buckles, these three were the best for the evening.
Vesta case, sadly not a silver on
The second I think is and Edward 1, though hope someone can confirm this as I am not sure, it is quite worn.
The third item I have no idea what it is I hope the picture is clear enough, if not it shows some sort of bird to the right and it looks like leaves to the left, there is nothing on the back of it.

Some nice finds scara. God on you for getting out.
Not sure about the coin but I think the other thing might be the centre piece out of a brooch or even a seal if there's no sign of an attachment on the back.
Was probably gilded and would have looked very nice when it was new.

Nice finds. The hammered is an Edward II penny, London mint, class 11a.

Can you show a pic of the back of the object portraying the bird please?
