just a question which do you guys think is the better machine, at the moment i have a laser hawkeye but an thinking of changing it for a 705 which im told are good machines, i tried some air tests with gold rings etc with my hawkeye and the depth was terrible only about 2 inch and max 4 inch in all metal, ive found lots of hammered and the usual with the hawkeye so its been good but i think i could do better with the 705 just wondering what you guys think

The minelab 705 is a very good machine for depth and is very good on pasture land Cool

Theres lots of members in my local club who swear by the hawkeye and they find plenty of good stuff too. Ive had the x terra and it is a crackin machine, My finds rate shot up when i first got it.
I think on the whole the x terra is a better machine due to the fact that you can use different coils with different  frequencies, though to be honest i found the DD 7.5 coil the best by far and used it 99% of the time. The only down side with this coil is that it made the detector a little nose heavy.
Hope this helps.
