Title: looking for finds data base Post by: Landyman on November 20, 2009, 12:25:06 AM Does any one here use a database on their pc to keep a record of their finds? If so, can you recommend a database to use? Title: Re: looking for finds data base Post by: Debbie on November 20, 2009, 02:24:58 PM Is this the kind of thing you have in mind imnotin ? Here is a screen print of a finds database that I am working on - the drop down arrows give a menu of pre-defined values relating to each field next to it - eg Period Age. Once the entries are put into the database, then you can search by any of the fields. Sorry about the quality of the image - it's just a screen print saved as a .jpg file.
This will take a bit of fine tuning, and I am not expert enough to make a pretty 'front end' to the database - perhaps another DW member can help me.
