Good Link but this makes us to be sly and underhand.. Read This.....................
Conservation and metal detecting: five golden rules for landowners

There are a number of self-written detectorists’ codes of practice but none of them make reporting to PAS obligatory. Only the official Code - the Code of Practice on Responsible Metal Detecting in England and Wales (May 2006) – does so and only this code is approved by the heritage, archaeology, farming and landowners’ bodies.
Similarly, membership of a detectorists’ organisation does not mean a detectorist is obliged to follow the official Code. None of those bodies has a code that insists upon members complying with the official one.
Saying is not doing. You should make your own enquiries via your nearest PAS Finds Liaison Officer and your Local Authority Archaeology Service. You are entitled to seek whatever reassurance you wish that your land does not contain buried archaeology and anyone detecting on it will report all finds to PAS – always, and with full details. Reporting finds elsewhere (including any "detectorists’ database") without also reporting to PAS is not responsible detecting under the official Code.
Some detectorists claim artefacts are best removed from the fields to avoid deterioration. This is not the official view. Some artefacts deteriorate but most are best left alone. Removing them without proper procedures and recording robs them of any context and deprives society of all future opportunity for study.
Very often, a detectorist will ask you to sign an agreement splitting the proceeds from any sales or financial benefits. You may wish to consider whether such a detectorist is motivated primarily by a love of history. Please bear in mind all the artefacts on your land belong to you alone (or, in the case of Treasure items, the State). You are entitled to make that clear to the detectorist.

Let's get 'em, guys! Set your shovels to stun! Saddle up, lock and load!

Good work people! Always good to see what "The other side" are up to. Even though things are moving on...slowly... I still think at least 90% of "Archaeologists" would like to see us all hung from the nearest yard arm. Whilst we do our best to convince them it seems we have a long way to go before we can expect the majority of them to acknowledge the work we do.

Quote from their "About Us" page:

Heritage Action is a rallying point for ordinary people who feel that society is sometimes deaf to the threats to prehistoric sites in Britain and Ireland.

In other words, they have no official mandate or qualifications whatsoever. They're just a bunch of little weenies who walk around with clip-boards making up statistics, and they've jumped on this bandwagon to make themselves feel important. I doubt they've ever even bothered to talk to an actual detectorist or come to a club rally.

Ignore them and let them have their sense of false importance.
