Title: Longshanks
Post by: staterchaser on March 29, 2011, 10:50:10 AM
It was a toss up last Sunday between CHADS & Mick Turrells Rallies. Ended going to Mick's in Hampshire, a few good finds came out, I think even a quater stater, but didnt see it. Looks like the CHADS was a cracker but thats the way it goes. Rallies are getting a bit like busses. None for ages then a few all at once.
I had a few bits and pieces including two nice buckles and a 19 century ring, but my best find was this Edward 1st, (Longshanks) penny class 4d, London Mint 1286-7AD.
Well pleased!:)

Actually I poached it. I saw Ian on his knees looking into a big hole, I wondered over to find he had lost a signal I put my machine over it and could not pick anything up. Oh well I thought it happens sometime.
As I walk away within 3ft of the hole I get a new signal. On telling Ian he sportingly says go ahead dig it. This was the result. Have to say feel really guilty as he has never had a hammered then I dig one up under his nose. Ooops sori Ian! :( ;D
